Exhibition CISTERSCAPES, THE CULTURAL LANDSCAPE OF THE CISTERCIANS

On Friday, 31 May 2024, we would like to invite you to join our neighbours and partners in Kostanjevica na Krki for the opening of the joint exhibition Cisterscapes, the cultural landscape of the Cistercians. The exhibition has been prepared by the two Slovenian partners in the Cisterscapes project, the Božidar Jakac Gallery and the Slovene Museum of Christianity. Both are among this year's recipients of the prestigious European award, the European Heritage Label!

The exhibition presents in more detail the cultural landscapes of the Cistercian monastery in Kostanjevica na Krki and the Stična Cistercian Abbey. The two monasteries are still an important part of our common European tradition.

Find out more about the history of the Cistercians, the international project Cisterscapes and the European Heritage Label at the opening ceremony.The Director of the Slovene Museum of Christianity, Nataša Polajnar Frelih, the Director of the Božidar Jakac Gallery, Goran Milovanović, the project coordinator for Kostanjevica na Krki and the curator of the exhibition, Kristina T. Simončič, will be in attendance.
