Stična 17, 1295 Ivančna Gorica
The Slovene Museum of Christianity is situated in a part of the Cistercian Abbey Stična.
The exhibition spaces are located in the Renaissance Old Prelature and in a part of the Baroque building by the stream.
Stična is located 36 km east of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. Novo mesto is 41 km away.
The nearest train station is in Ivančna Gorica, 2.5 km from the museum. There is a regular bus line LPP on the route Ljubljana–Šentvid pri Stični. Bus stop is 200 m away from the museum.
A free parking for cars and buses is available for museum visitors at a public bus station (AP Stična) just next to the monastery. Cars can as well park at the parking lot right infront of the Basilica of the Sorrowful Mother of God.
There are two ways to get to the museum. You can walk from the bus stop up and follow the stream till you reach the first bridge in front of today's main entrance to the monastery. After crossing the first bridge you will reach the inner courtyard. The entrance to the museum will be on your right.
Another way is to follow the stream all the way to the upper bridge (second bridge) and walk across. Now you will see the museum information column and the main entrance to the museum on your left.
